Contemporary Indian Art Show

One of the most popular events of the year will return July 11-12 when  Cahokia Mounds hosts the 14th Annual Contemporary Indian Art Show. More than 25 Native American artists from across the nation will gather in the Interpretive Center to display and sell works of fine art.

A Preview Party will be held Friday, July 10 from 6:30 – 9 pm. Don’t miss this special opportunity to meet the artists, be the first to see and purchase the artworks, and vote for the artists you want to see win the People’s Choice Award. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be provided.

The panel of judges will award ribbons and cash prizes to the top four artists in both the 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional categories. The Cahokia Mound Builder award will also be presented to individual(s) or organization(s) that have made a major impact in the preservation, development of interpretation of Cahokia Mounds and its surrounding archaeological sphere.

Preview Party tickets are just $15 each and can be ordered by calling 618-344-7316. Saturday and Sunday the show is free and open to the public from 9am – 5 pm.
